Mini Sudoku 6×6.

Mini Sudoku keeps the logic of the classic game in a smaller 6×6 grid. Its boxes are rectangular, so the important first step is reading their boundaries correctly.

THE OBJECTIVE

How to play

Fill every empty square with a number from 1 to 6. Each row, column and 2 × 3 box must contain every number exactly once.

  1. Use the numbers 1–6, with no repeats in any row or column.
  2. Each outlined 2 × 3 box also needs every number exactly once. Printed starting numbers cannot be changed.
  3. Select an empty square and use the number pad or your keyboard. Notes let you pencil in possible numbers.
  4. Every puzzle has exactly one solution. Repeated numbers are marked with an ×. Hint reveals a correct number; Undo restores the previous move, including notes.

Use only the numbers 1–6

Every row and column needs each number from 1 to 6 exactly once. Numbers 7, 8 and 9 do not belong in this variant. There are 36 squares, and the printed starting numbers stay fixed.

Read the 2×3 boxes

Each outlined box is two rows tall and three columns wide. It must also contain 1–6 once. For example, a box with 1, 2, 3 on its first row and 4, blank, 6 on the second is missing 5. Check the actual outlines rather than imagining the 3×3 boxes of classic Sudoku.

Use the smaller grid to practice elimination

Start with a nearly complete row, column or box. A new entry changes the candidates in all three groups. Notes can hold uncertain candidates while you examine another area. Duplicate marks identify repeated numbers, not every wrong choice. Hint reveals a correct value, and Undo restores earlier entries and notes.

Common questions

Are the small boxes 2×2?

No. The six outlined boxes each contain six cells arranged in two rows and three columns.

Does Mini Sudoku save separately from Classic?

Yes. Switching to Classic or Diagonal Sudoku keeps the Mini puzzle and its notes in its own browser save.

Controls, saves and offline play

Select a square and choose a number. Notes mark candidates, and Erase clears an entry. Arrow keys move your selection; number keys enter values. N toggles notes, and Backspace or Delete erases.

H gives a hint, Ctrl/⌘ Z undoes a move, and F toggles fullscreen where supported. Each variant saves separately on this device. Switching language keeps the same save. Up to 100 undo steps are retained.

First open the game online. Once the menu says “Available offline”, you can reopen it without a connection while your browser retains its data. Clearing site data also removes saved games.
