Clear all 144 tiles by matching pairs of free tiles in the layered Garden layout.
- A tile is free when nothing rests on top of it and either its left or right side is open. Both tiles in a pair must be free before you select them.
- Match two tiles with the same face. Dots, bamboo, characters, winds and dragons match their identical partners.
- Any flower matches another flower; any season matches another season. Flowers and seasons do not match each other.
- Every new deal has a solution. Your choices can still lead to a blocked position. Undo a move or use Shuffle to rearrange the remaining tiles into a solvable position.
A rule in action
Check whether both tiles are free
A tile is free only when no tile rests on it and at least one of its horizontal sides is open. An open top or bottom edge on the screen is not enough. Both matching tiles must be free at the same time. Removing an upper tile may unlock one below it; opening a row end can release its neighbor.
Know the matching exceptions
Dots, bamboo, characters, winds and dragons match the identical face. Flower tiles form one matching group even when their pictures differ. Season tiles form another group. A flower does not match a season. If a selected tile is free but the second click does not remove a pair, check the group as well as the pictures.
Choose the pair that opens the board
When three or four copies are available, compare the tiles they would uncover. Upper layers and long rows can restrict several other tiles. New deals have a solution, but a later choice can still block the board. Undo reverses your choices. Shuffle preserves the remaining tile faces and rearranges them into a solvable position; a shuffle can also be undone.
Common questions
Why can I not select a visible tile?
A visible tile can still be blocked from above or on both horizontal sides. Remove a covering tile or open one side first.
Does Shuffle bring back removed tiles?
No. Cleared tiles stay cleared. Only the remaining tiles are rearranged, and their faces are preserved.
Controls, saves and offline play
Tap two free matching tiles in turn. Tab or arrow keys focus a free tile; Enter or Space selects it. Shuffle rearranges the remaining tiles.
H gives a hint, Ctrl/⌘ Z undoes a move, and F toggles fullscreen where supported. Each variant saves separately on this device. Switching language keeps the same save. Up to 100 undo steps are retained.
First open the game online. Once the menu says “Available offline”, you can reopen it without a connection while your browser retains its data. Clearing site data also removes saved games.
